Are you turning “GREEN” at work?

If you haven’t started going “Green” at work here are a few simple and practical ideas for you and your company.

Of course the first step is to have recycle bins to recycle cans, plastic bottles and trash, but what about the paper?

You may want to consider calling your local recycling company and have them make a trip to your company’s facility to assess what you have that they can and will recycle for you – such items may include magazines, old letter head, junk mail, and the infamous shreds. When they are at your facility they can tell you what else can be recycled. Who knows they might think of something that you would never think of.

You may want to try this tip for reducing the amount of waste paper that you produce. Try using both sides of the paper to eliminate clutter and quantity of wasted space. You are still getting your point across, and saving trees at the same time.

Several other ways to go green are to save energy by using compact fluorescent light bulbs or if your company has the larger style of fluorescent lights in areas that are not used constantly try installing lights that are on a motion sensor. For instance when leaving your office the light will shut off which causes you to save energy by not having the light on.

You may also want to get your associates started using reusable bottles for example our Range Kleen Stainless Steel beverage bottle or the insulated bottle with serving cup that is recommended for the coffee drinkers rather than the plastic throw away water bottles and cups. Also try using food storage containers filled with left over foods that can be reused by filling them up with “Good for the lips but not hips type of foods.” Need product tips for portion control, try using Range Kleen’s Go Go Products which are available in two different sized salad containers, the fruit/veggie container, the insulated food jars, and insulated food bottles.

These are just a few steps into making your life healthier and leaner and your work place greener.

  1. We have recycling bins where I work and it is amazing how we have cut down on the amount of “trash” we have every week. Recycling can pay for itself and actually bring in money.
