Every year, most people believe that they will start the New Year with change, whether it’s a superstition, or a New Year’s resolution. Everyone of all ages should set a goal for the New Year, but try not to break it and challange yourself to stick to it.

Reach for a practical goal  rather than coming up with the craziest goal that you probably won’t accomplish. By doing so,it increases your chance of success. Remember to take baby steps instead of giant leaps so you won’t fall on your face .

Start a family tradition.

Since the dawn of time, pork and sauerkraut have been the traditional foods to eat to bring you luck for the year. Try starting a tradition with your family. Find some type of food, pork related and make it your families own personal good luck charm for the year. For your kids that are picky eaters, why not take something simple that they like, for instance, bologna , and create fun projects the whole family can join in on. Try using  cookie cutters to cut shapes for more “interesting” eating . So try something new and fun this year with your family, make it count!

  1. You mentioning bologna reminds me of growing up in the country and visiting a friend whose family came from Kentucky. They served fried bologna — cooked like steak in a frying pan. It was pretty good. Another name for it is “Kentucky Round Steak”.
