New Year’s Resolutions – we all make them and most of us will break them!
January 6, 2009 on 10:53 am | In Health & Nutrition, How To's and Helpful Tips | 1 CommentHow can you make sure that you keep your 2009 New Year’s Resolutions?
One way would be to make your resolutions attainable. Instead of saying “I want to lose 50 pounds this year” – maybe say “I want to start a diet and exercise program that will allow me to lose 50 pounds even if it takes me 2 or 3 years to do so”. This gives you the time that you will need to successfully lose that weight and to keep it off.
Also, don’t just make the resolution – make a plan…
If your resolution is a weight loss resolution then define your plan for doing this
Here is an example –
1. Create a workout program (this can change as you lose weight and get more active)
2. Figure out which foods you eat that are not good for you and slowly start getting those out of your diet.
3. Start introducing foods into your diet that are good for you, these will start to replace the “bad” foods.
4. If you are a pop drinker slowly start weaning yourself off pop and replacing it with water.
You may want to revisit your resolution/plan throughout the year to tweak it and or modify it as your situation changes throughout the year.
