3. Make sure to unbutton blouses or dress shirts before washing. When washing your washer whips your clothes around and if your shirts are buttoned it is a possibility over time or frequent washes that the fabric can stretch and weaken. This can also result in those lost buttons. There is nothing worse than your favorite sweater or shirt not having an extra button to repair with. Don’t neglect to repair your clothing once you have spotted the tear, because it can only get bigger it can’t get smaller, and then you might as well kiss it goodbye.
