Looking for a new way to keep stuff together with out sticky glues or by sewing, here are a few tips in using Velcro.
1. Keep tablecloths from slipping or blowing away. Take a piece of Velcro and put it the back side of the tablecloth and then place the other piece underneath the table. That way you can enjoy your cookouts with out trouble.
2. Velcro is a great way to organize toys or even for decorating when hanging pictures on the wall. Place the piece of Velcro on the wall and then place the opposite piece on the toy or on the back of a frame that isn’t heavy. Clean up will be fun and your walls will appreciate fewer holes.
3. Organize cords that are strung out everywhere, by the T.V. or Computer. Instead of using the plastic zip ties that have to be cut to get apart try using a strip of Velcro to keep cords neatly together.
4. Save money on decorating for weddings, proms or special occasions. If you’re tired of spending $20.00 on a wrist corsage Velcro is just what you need. All you have to do is go to your local fabric store or even a fabric department; get a few fake flowers and the metal twine to keep the flowers in place affix flowers to the Velcro strip and there you have a cheap and easy corsage that looks great. This is also for great because if you have never met your sons date and you don’t know how big her wrist is it’s easy to adjust straps without trouble.
5. Use Velcro for clothing that doesn’t quiet fit. Put a piece of Velcro on the fabric on the inside of your jacket or sweater to create a smooth area that way it eliminates the sweater from popping open and showing gaps.
6. Are you or any member of your family losing the remote constantly, here’s a solution that hopefully everyone can stick to. Place a piece of Velcro to the side of your T.V. or coffee table, and make sure to train everyone when the remote isn’t being used to go to the designated area. This is also a great idea for when you lose your pens. Attach a piece of Velcro to a pen and pad, attach the opposite side to your desk or counter top by a phone that way it can’t go anywhere and you always have it handy.
7. Keeping your kitchen in contact, with any size rug keep in place by adding a little Velcro to the back. Keep the cushions from sliding off of your chairs as well; this helps so that you won’t have to repair the strings that are connected to the cushion and chair.
