Everyone gets a little stressed throughout the year and you need to know how to release those stresses. There are plenty of ways to reduce stress or learn tactics to take stress head on and come out on top of things.
Here are a few implications your life is stressful:
1. Feeling tired and drained.
2. Not eating properly. If you are skipping meals or constantly getting fast food.
3. Constantly Sick.
4. Feeling overwhelmed and out of control of your life.
5. Cannot just say “No” in any situation.
6. Tossing and turning at night in your sleep or just falling to sleep in general.
7. When nervous if you have the urge to eat, smoke, or drink.
All of these are signs of stress. Your body is trying to tell you something if you are experiencing any similarities to the above suggestions.
Here are some strategies to overcome your stress and anxiety:
1. Eat a balanced diet. Foods that are high in vitamins such as: vitamins A, B, and C.
2. Exercise regularly. Even if it’s walking up and down stairs in your house 10 times in a row, at least your body will be getting some type of activity.
3. Find an outlet. Whether it’s venting your feelings to your spouse, friend, and co-worker of parents. Share all feelings it is not healthy to hold everything inside.
4. Get proper sleep. Find a time that is not too early or late and make a routine every night that way you are getting consistent sleep.
5. Try to get organized and learn how to manage your time more efficiently for you.
6. Most importantly think positive. If you have an optimistic attitude about everything you try to do there shouldn’t be any negative set backs. Your negative attitude affects not only yourself but everyone you come in contact with.
As soon as you feel stress approaching do the following:
1. Reach Upward. Raise both arms over your head interlocking fingers face palms outward. Keep shoulders pressed downward holding for 20 seconds.
2. Rotate Shoulders. With both feet planted on the floor sit up straight in your chair. Raise your shoulders making a circular motion forward and backwards 10 times.
3. Back Stretch. While sitting straight interlock fingers behind your head as if to do a sit up, but remain seated. Raise chest and bring elbows back by pulling as far as you can. Hold for at least 10 seconds.
Only you can allow stress to affect you. So stop let stress get to you.
