Tips N’ Tricks, the Infamous White Vinegar!
October 14, 2009 on 3:50 pm | In The Heart of Your Home | No CommentsYou don’t have to be a fan of vinegar to use it. It can smell but is also very helpful in any situation. Here are a few helpful uses:
1. As we get closer to the winter season keep in mind that white vinegar can remove salt stains from your boots.
2. Replace lemon juice in recipes. Use a ½ teaspoon of vinegar instead of the lemon juice.
3. Make wool sweaters softer, just by putting in a few capfuls of vinegar during your washers rinse cycle. This gives the sweater a softer feel.
4. Save your used and abused coffee mug. Your favorite mug that has accumulated stains from either coffee or tea. There’s nothing to it when finished drinking out of cup add 2 tablespoons of vinegar, swish and then wash as regular.
5. Kill annoying weeds, that are two small to pull. Just use old spray bottles if you have one lying around the house, fill it up with vinegar and spray away.
6. Degrease oily hair. Shampoo hair as regular rinse and pour ¼ cup over hair, and rinse again.
7. Degrease your tea kettle or coffeemaker, by boiling water and vinegar mixed together, and then wipe clean. Pour water and vinegar mixture in coffee maker to run through a cycle as if making a pot of coffee, repeat several times with regular water.
8. Deodorize your garbage disposal by freezing vinegar using an ice cube tray. Let ice cubes grind in garbage disposal then rinse with water.
9. Get rid of soap built up in your dishwasher. While the dishwasher is empty run a cup of vinegar through its cycle, do this once a month to remove build up.
