Dirty Oven Nightmares?

How long have you been putting cleaning your oven off? You should clean your oven at least every six months, or unless it starts looking really gross in the mean time. Of course you don’t have to get in there if your stove has a self cleaning oven option available. For those of you who don’t have a self cleaning oven here are some tips on how to clean your oven thoroughly:
1. Knobs. Most stoves are manufactured to be able to remove the knobs by just pulling them off; throw them in the dishwasher for a faster cleaning. If your knobs are old and cracked check out Range Kleen’s universal knob kits; available in different colors, guaranteed to spruce any oven up.
2. Oven Racks. Make sure oven is cooled down before removing oven racks. For best results soak in hot water. Put those in the sink or large clean container with dish liquid of choice, let sit and move on. For extreme build up let racks soak overnight.
3. Oven. Use a spray oven cleaner, on oven interior and oven door. For the dirty oven, let cleaner sit overnight to get a deeper cleaning. By letting the cleaner sit overnight you don’t have to use elbow grease to get the job done. Always check your manufacturer guidelines for approved oven cleaning sprays before applying. Follow manufacturers’ instructions on length of time to leave spray in oven. If you are unsure of how to proceed, always test a small area about the size of a quarter to make sure that no damage can be done to your oven interior.
DON’T STOP HERE!
Not only does the inside of your oven appreciate you, but let other people appreciate your oven by making it look brand new with either chrome or porcelain drip pans. Porcelain drip pans are a lot easier to clean especially for tough spills only on the porcelain you can use a non abrasive oven cleaner or put them in the dishwasher. Although the chrome is harder to keep clean; the chrome drip pans are more energy efficient.
